Negativity is toxic for any relationship. In order for your partner and your relationship to grow and thrive, aim to reduce negativity (shaming, blaming, criticism, put downs, stone walling, sarcasm etc) by following these two suggestions:
- Share what you appreciate about each other. Put into words what you value, love and cherish about your partner. Perhaps something about your partner’s personality, a physical characteristic, a caring behaviour they have done for you or perhaps something they always do but is taken for granted.
